Jeté sur la rivière Kasaï, depuis plus d’un siècle le pont Kasaï vient de céder ce vendredi 24 octobre 2020 en pleine journée. Les marchands, élèves et fonctionnaires qui font les transactions entre les cinq communes de la ville de Tshikapa en passant par le Centre ville de Kanzala ont emprunté les pirogues pour regagner leurs domiciles et cela non sans risques du courant d’eau de cette vaste et puissante rivière qui a donné le nom à un grand espace du centre de la RDC.
Les passants se trouvant sur les passerelles de ce pont au moment de son affessement dans les eaux de la rivière ont été par les piroguiers moyennant des colossales sommes d’argent. Tous les efforts pour joindre au téléphone, le Ministre provincial des travaux publics et infrastructures du Kasaï, Olivier Tombe Tombe sont restés sans succès
