Les Léopards dames U17 de la RDC sont tombées dimanche dernier face aux Écureuils. À l’issue de cette première manche, l’équipe nationale de la RDC se retrouve en difficulté après cette défaite (0-2) face au Bénin lors du match aller du deuxième tour des éliminatoires de la Coupe du Monde féminine U17.

Disputée au stade Kégué de Lomé, cette rencontre laisse les Congolaises dans l’obligation d’un exploit au match retour pour espérer poursuivre l’aventure.
Malgré quelques opportunités, les jeunes Congolaises n’ont pas su trouver le chemin des filets, tandis que les Guépards dames U17 ont su être plus réalistes en marquant à deux reprises. Avec ce retard de deux buts, la RDC devra montrer un tout autre visage lors du match retour pour renverser la situation et espérer se qualifier pour le tour suivant.

Le match retour, qui se jouera en Kinshasa aura un parfum de finale, car il s’annonce crucial pour les Léopards dames U17. Elles devront non seulement marquer au moins deux buts sans en encaisser, mais aussi faire preuve de solidité défensive pour éviter toute mauvaise surprise.

En cas de qualification contre le Bénin, les Léopards dames U17 de la RDC ne seront pas directement qualifiées pour la Coupe du Monde féminine U17. Elles devront encore passer d’autres tours d’éliminatoires.

La Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) a prévu plusieurs tours de qualification pour désigner les équipes africaines qui participeront à la Coupe du Monde féminine U17 de la FIFA.

Seules trois équipes africaines obtiennent leur billet pour la phase finale du tournoi. Si la RDC élimine le Bénin, elle devra donc encore affronter d’autres équipes lors des tours suivants pour espérer décrocher l’une des places qualificatives.

La tâche est rude d’autant plus que l’équipe nationale féminine U17 de la RDC n’a encore jamais participé à une Coupe du Monde féminine U17 de la FIFA. Les qualifications africaines sont très disputées, et seules trois équipes du continent obtiennent leur ticket pour la phase finale du tournoi.

Jusqu’à présent, des nations comme le Ghana, le Cameroun ou encore le Nigeria ont souvent dominé les qualifications et représenté l’Afrique dans cette compétition. Les léopards dames U17 espèrent donc écrire l’histoire en obtenant leur première qualification mondiale.
