RDC : Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde élu Président du Sénat avec 84 voix sur 95 votants

Le Sénateur Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde est élu Président de la Chambre haute du Parlement. C’était à l’issue de l’élection des membres du Bureau définitif du Sénat qui a eu lieu ce lundi 12 août 2024. Sur 95 voix de suffrages valablement exprimés, Sama Lukonde a obtenu 84 voix devant le Sénateur Mukamba Kadiata Nzemba qui n’aura obtenu que 9 voix.

Bien avant ce scrutin, le candidat UDPS, Idrissa Afani s’était désisté en faveur du Sénateur Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde dans le cadre du ticket commun de l’Union sacrée de la Nation, la plateforme politique qui soutient la vision du président de la République, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi. Cette élection de Sama Lukonde au Sénat met fin à un long périple parsemé de plusieurs ambuches. C’est donc un motif de soulagement et de satisfaction pour le candidat qui dit placer son mandat à la tête du Sénat sous le signe de l’unité, la paix et la cohésion selon la vision du Chef de l’État, pour un Sénat efficace, moderne et accessible.
